Mike has over thirty years of business and leadership experience working at all levels for both small businesses and large multi-national companies. A majority of his professional experience has been focused within the areas of employee concern management, anti-retaliation and dispute resolution. Wilson’s professional experience includes the directorship of a large employee concerns / anti-retaliation program covering over 70,000 employees in over 70 countries, the Executive leadership of a premiere non-profit professional association focused on employee concern practitioners and the training of hundreds of line managers on how to manage concerns raised by the workforce and how to prevent workplace retaliation.
His professional focus and passion lies in helping companies adopt a “zero-tolerance” approach to retaliation. He believes all retaliation is unacceptable misconduct and that employers should do everything possible to enforce their anti-retaliation policies in order to protect employees and to encourage a “speak-up” culture.
As President of the National Association of Employee Concerns Professionals (NAECP), Wilson has designed and implemented several workforce concerns training programs to multiple industries and companies many of which are covered by whistle-blower laws enforced by OSHA. Industry examples are nuclear, oil and gas, manufacturing and related service sectors. NAECP is a non-profit professional association aimed at employee concerns and whistle-blower practitioners.
Wilson is often approached by others for input and advice on employee concerns and whistle-blower activities. In the past, he has collaborated with government agencies, universities and other Fortune 500 companies. Michael Wilson has authored several proprietary technical documents regarding the implementation and operation of a large employee concerns and whistle blowing program. Wilson also publishes a quarterly blog aimed at employee concerns professionals.
Wilson holds a Masters of Business Administration as well as a Bachelor’s of Finance. He is a certified mediator and alternative dispute resolution practitioner in the State of Texas. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
